ETA because this is my third post today: )

Here's the problem I have with art: nothing I draw will ever be as pretty as something that spends its entire life cycle eating the dead skin cells stuck to my eyebrow hairs, or as beautiful as something that just floats in a bit of pondwater.

harry potter and the attack of the philosophical tribbles.

Three things to blog about today. I'm guessing LJ etiquette demands that I split them up into three short posts instead of one long one, but I don't feel like it so I won't.

1. Random crap. Still reading The Selfish Gene. Got a 94 in careers and a 84 in civics (because I'm a dirty boot-wearing ass-kicking Russian communist. Actually, because I got registered two weeks late and didn't finish an assignment, but I'm sure hangin' out with my homeboys didn't help.) Have been poking around Flickr because it's awesome. Dozed off on the balcony while reading the Selfish Gene in the sun and had a very strange... not a dream, not really, just this very weird feeling, kind of like having my brain sort of fall out of my skull and walk off on its little brainy legs. I don't know how else to put it, but some coffee and the remains of yesterday's papaya seemed to make it go away. Still feeling a little antsy, though. I think I need to go for a run.

2. The weekend was awesome. I went to the crazy Harry Potter downtown with [info]bunnyhero and [info]merpmerp and a whole whackload of other NaNoers/writing dorks/geeks/all-of-the-above, snarfed watermelon until I was sick, sucked at jumping over holes, and generally had a really good time. :) Thanks for getting me to come out, guys! Although I still wish they'd have left the bouncy castle up.

3. The intarwubs holds many things. Browsing through old news stories today, I found BBC coverage on the US's bluest senator. It's called argyria, and it's from ingesting too much silver.

Now all we need to do is slip some carrots in the food of the conservatives, and political debates will be so much easier to follow...

You know, my parents never let me watch stuff like Mission Impossible because it was too violent.

Discovery channel was pretty kosher, though.

(It's a little longish, but well worth watching to the end.)

EDIT EDIT EDIT: Since I've tagged this under 'science' already, I'll just stick this in here. But really, it deserves its own entry.
SO DAMN COOL . This is the first time elementary particles are really and truly on film.

(And yes, I am aware of the fact that if my parents had a basement, I would probably end up living in it until I'd be 33.)

I've just finished Tom McCarthy's Remainder and found some cool stuff on the web. I'd write more, but I'm really insanely busy.
Must write book report en francais.

Here's some links to a) keep you entertained and b) to be here so I can access them from home, too.

This is why I love science.

CUTEST. THING. EVER.
I dare you to disagree.
